Mart
and Cindy founded Dog Scout Troop 119, Lone Star Paws
Squad, in 2002 and it quickly grew into the
largest in the country. Soon thereafter in 2004, they
started hosting and directing their own mini-camps so
that people interested in Dog Scouts, who were unable to
make to the main camp in Michigan, would have a place to
go and learn the Dog Scout Way. Those too quickly grew to
record numbers.
Mart served twice
on the DSA Board of Directors. Cindy was the DSA Recognition
Program Director for national DSA for 4.5 years. Cindy, a former professional dog trainer of 8 years, still works with dogs that she and Mart open their hearts and home to foster. They share their forever home with newly adopted White Shepherd pup, Paisley.
Both Mart and Cindy are firm
believers in involving Dog Scouts in the community and
under their leadership many programs have been started
which help dogs and educate the community. |
